Swampscott returns top scorers Tara Nimkar (15 points per game) and Allie Beaulieu (13 ppg)

# 2 Cardinal Spellman defeated Masconoment (56-52 / OT /12/23) as top players for Masco missed playing time due to foul trouble; Caroline Stewart & Jamie White.

Stewart is headed for Boston University.

Peabody coach Jane Heil is starting her 27th year behind the bench for the lady tanners.

Ipswich hosts a holiday tournament 12/27 & 12/28 featuring Beverly, Triton and Manchester-Essex.

Lynn Classical (4-0) beat Peabody 63-62 (12/21) Kevin Skop led the Rams with a game high 26 points.

Lynn English (5-0) trounced Beverly 70-30 (12/21) Kevin Turner led the Bulldogs with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Former Panther Furcy Ferraris chipped in 5 points.

Salem knocked off Revere 75-46 (12/21) for their first win of the year. (1-3) Junior Lugo contributed 22 points for the Witches.

Boys Ice Hockey

Beverly (3-0-1) defeated Peabody 5-2 behind freshman goaltender Tony Walsh. (23 Saves in just his second start)

Gloucester (3-0-1) knocked off Marblehead 6-1; Fisherman Josh Salah broke his wrist late in the first period.

St. John’s Prep (1-1-1) under first year coach Kristian Hanson won a tournament in Vermont over the weekend with strong play from the team’s first line of Colin Prior, Danny Haugh, and Christian Cowles. Goaltender Kyle Pettoruto made 24 saves in the championship game against Essex Junction High School.

Bishop Fenwick (2-0) is being led by senior captain Pat Doliber, vs. Pope John…two goals and two assists.

Saugus (3-1 / 2-0) Being led by Mike Suzzarella’s hat trick in a 5-1 win over the Lynn Jets.

Lynn Jets feature a combined team of Lynn English and Lynn Classical players led by former Lynn English coach Al Melanson.

Revere edged Danvers 3-2 as Shane Doyle scored with just 16 seconds remaining.
