An
Era Ends in Beverly Boys' Lacrosse
From Beverly Athletic Director John Longley:
The Beverly High School athletic department announces boy's lacrosse coach Peter Ginolfi's decision to retire. Peter has been a head boys lacrosse coach for the past 15 years, the last 12 at Beverly High, the first three at Masconomet. Peter compiled an overall record of 214-85 and a tournament record of 18-11. Peter's record at Beverly was 196-73. His tenure includes 12 league titles and a state title in 2003.The Panthers currently hold a 98 game win streak in conference play.
Peter's Beverly teams competed in the Emass final in 2000
and 2002 winning the state title in 2003. Five of Peter's tournament losses
were to the eventual state champion in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, and
2007.
Peter was named Northeastern Conference and Emass coach of
the year this past season. Peter was Boston Globe coach of the year after
winning the state title in 2003. Peter coached a number of All
Americans while serving as head coach in Beverly including Alex Boches this
past season.
The Beverly Public Schools thank Peter for his dedication to the student
