North Shore Bank's Player of the Month: Jordan Shairs

North Shore Bank's Player of the Month for December, 2010, Gloucester senior running back/linebacker Jordan Shairs. An All Conference offensive MVP, Shairs also was named on several All-Star teams, including ESPN Boston and the Daily Item for his defensive play. The 6-foot, 210-pounder helped the Gloucester defense average just 10 points per game against and saw a bulk of Gloucester’s carries tallying 31 total touchdowns (30 rushing) for the season, gaining more than 1400 yards rushing. His performances on Thanksgiving and in the MIAA playoffs helped propel the Fishermen to their second straight Div. 1A championship and helped his senior classmates finish with a 4-year won-loss record of 50-2, including 26 straight wins.

North Shore Bank's Player of the Month: Clare Pleuler

North Shore Bank's Player of the Month for November, 2010, junior center midfielder and captain Clare Pleuler led the Gloucester girls soccer team to an outstanding 12-3-3 record this year, allowing the Fishermen to make the state tournament for the second year in a row. Pleuler, who led the team in scoring with 11 goals and 6 assists, was also named the Northeastern Conference South MVP. Gloucester plays Wayland in the opening of the state tournament on Saturday at Newell Stadium. Clare is among several young underclassmen who have catapulted Gloucester from 3 winless seasons in a row to the elite among the NEC South. As defenses key on Clare, her talented teammates excel on offense.
